Al Rafi Towers
Concept, Schematic and Detailed Design of 60, 70 and 80 storeys tall structures consist of a building block divided into three district functional zones of residential, office and hotel with a common podium.
The main vertical elements (columns and shear walls) are reinforced concrete, providing stability against windand seismic actions. The floor slabs are post- tensioned concrete which is designed and detailed to provide diaphragm actions.
Chris was responsible for the structural design of the three towers while working for Whitby & Bird in 2005.
